Subject: [Fwd: food storage bill in state of Maine]
my home state of Maine has a bill in the works to set the state emergency/veterans agency (which I never knew existed) to work collecting enough food (rice & beans are mentioned [but where's the salsa?]) to feed the entire population of the state for three months.
wha?
of course, there's no mention of y2k, just some language like, 'ya never know when ya might get a BIG emergency.'
being thrifty new englanders, there are provisions written into the bill to (a) keep the food fresh by renewing it, and (b) sell food about to go old back to the people.
thought this might go on your site re: ag/food.
